Grocery Spending February 15-21

This is a really easy week to write about our grocery spending.  We didn't go to the grocery store at all.  We went for fresh produce last Thursday, and it lasted until Tuesday or Wednesday.  We just did without fresh stuff over the last two days (we have lots of frozen, dried, and canned fruit and veggies), and went grocery shopping today.  But of course today counts toward next week's shopping, since I do my week from Friday through Thursday.

Our weekly total this week was $0.

Our weekly budget is $100 per week for our family of three adults, one child, two dogs, and a cat.

Our total spent on groceries for 2013 so far is $707.09.

We are 7.5 weeks into the year, and our budget is $100 per week, so we are currently  $42.81 under our budget for the year.

Looking good!! I have been working harder at coming in under budget and feeling like jumping for joy when I actually do. :)

I am always super exited when we come in under budget, too. We are trying to fund the rest of our summer vacation with money that a save out of other areas of our budget, so that helps us work harder on saving. :) we live in North Dakota, and ate planning a Florida vacation, so it certainly will not be cheap.

We aren't doing too good on our spending this year. I thought I did good spending $100 this week, but forgot that I also spent $50 a few days prior for other things we needed. What a battle to stay on budget!

I hate it when I forget about a shopping trip! Since I've been blogging about it every week, I don't think I've forgotten one. I look at receipts, and then I check my credit card and my debit card both, too, just to make sure that my husband didn't make a trip and forget to tell me about it.

It's actually been harder than I anticipated to come in around my budget goal. It's not a strict goal obviously, since I don't even shop every week, so other weeks I will have to go over. Still, it's been pretty hard to average around $100 each week, but my paper budget actually shows a little more ($500 each month), so I'm still making some progress toward our vacation goal. :)
